Winter is Coming!

As is true for many of you, Fall and Christmas Holidays are my favorite time of year. It is the busiest time for the store. With new merchandize to price and display, to the pharmacy helping patients with the yearly cold and flu bugs; there is a lot of activity and stress running the store. And, many times I felt as if it has taken over me as well.

Being a young store owner 25 years ago; this time of year was over whelming. Juggling all the responsibilities of the store and family was daunting. It was in the midst of this holiday stress I heard myself telling a friend, “Even my prayer life has changed…from Peace on Earth…to PLEASE let it sell.” In that moment I realized I had taken over the reins of the store. I needed to get back to where Ken and I had given the store to God. We believed we were simply caretakers.

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.”

My prayers became confident in His faithfulness… He started of good work in us and would be faithful to perfect it until Jesus comes.

So, each year when I put out Christmas related gifts and the store changes to a jingle in every corner…I remember…God is faithful.
